Please tell us a little bit about the organization you work for.

"The Tecumseh Public Library offers free books, audiobooks, movies, learning resources, and programming in both traditional formats and digital content to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in our 3 county service area, which includes Pottawatomie, Cleveland, and McClain counties. You can check out up to 100 physical items, and you can also enjoy a wealth of free eBooks, audio books or movies with the PLS Connect app. We offer wonderful free programs such as Family Story Time, the Sunday Stars tutoring program for children in 1-3rd grade, SAIL exercise classes, the Story Walk at Slick Humphrey Park, and we are thrilled to be a new affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which will mail a free book every month to enrolled children from birth until their fifth birthday."

 

What do you love most about working for your organization?

"I love connecting people of all ages with information and resources, or their next great read!"

 

 Please tell the membership a bit about you. Share your background, interests, hobbies, and other fun information.

Beth began working for the Pioneer Library System in 2002 first as a library assistant, and later as the Pottawatomie County Literacy Coordinator. She completed her Master’s in Library and Information Science at the University of Oklahoma, and became the branch manager at the Tecumseh Public Library in 2012. She is a toddler Sunday School teacher at New Hope Baptist Church. At home, Beth loves to cook, garden, read and hang out on the porch with her cat,. When she can get away, Beth loves to travel, kayak, and spend time road tripping with friends and family.

 

Why do you believe you have been chosen for this award?
