Products & Services

"For many years the Highland congregation has made a commitment to mission works, both in our country and abroad. We provide support for Truth for Today publications, which provides literature support to native foreign preachers worldwide. We also support a number of domestic works, including smaller congregations that are trying to become more established in their communities. We provide evangelistic publications throughout the area and provide a prison ministry to Mabel Bassett Correctional Center. We have a monthly food ministry that supplies large quantities of food to approximately 70 families per month in the Tecumseh area. We also try to minister to the spiritual needs of those we help. We have lots of membership participation in this very rewarding ministry. We support a number of orphanages and children's homes throughout the state and country and are committed to helping provide a stable, Christian environment for children so that they may have an opportunity to learn about God and follow Jesus Christ."

Tell the membership some about the company's background and other fun information.

"The Church of Christ in Tecumseh began in 1907 in the Pottawattomie courthouse which was then located in Tecumseh. In 1910 the first church building was erected at the corner of Jefferson & Range Line. In 1920 the building was moved to Main and Broadway. In 1925 it was torn down and a new building constructed at the same location. In the 1950-60's classrooms, restrooms, a library and a foyer were added. On July 17, 1966 the Highland congregation was formed and met in a new building at 808 E. Highland and it remains there today. On December 24, 1971 fire destroyed the building at Main and Broadway. On January 2, 1972 the Christians from Main and Broadway met with the Highland congregation and since that time there has been one congregation in Tecumseh. In September of 2005 Highland held it's first service in the current church which is located at 905 E Walnut St. It is a dedicated church filled with love and unity, highly given to reaching the lost and caring for the needy."

Please tell the membership why you chose to build.

"Originally, the elders saw a need for housing for our senior members. That need has now been extended to seniors outside our church with excellent results and greater chances to serve by providing activities, companionship and fellowship."
