Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce appoints new Executive Director Kimberly Elliott

Kimberly Elliott was announced as the new incoming Executive Director of the Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce.

Elliott’s experience working for Jordan Contractors Inc. in Tecumseh and a current successful business owner will help further advance the mission of businesses working together to promote a higher quality of life for the community. “I am looking forward to serving the great community of Tecumseh and launching off Leslie’s success in building the foundation of this strong Chamber and seeing how far we can grow together,” Elliott said.

Leslie Merritt is the current director that will aid in a transitional period for Elliott beginning May 31 before Merritt concludes her role on June 17. When asked about working with Elliott, Merritt said, “When I first started working for the Chamber in 2020, Kim was one of the first people that welcomed me into my new role. I’m so glad to get to return the favor. She is a joy to be around, and I can’t wait to begin working with her.”

Current President of the Tecumseh Chamber Board of Directors, Nicole Sanchez, said “I am so excited to have Kim Elliott as our new Chamber Executive Director! The leadership and energy she brings is just what we were looking for! I am excited to see what God has in store for our hometown of Tecumseh!”

Elliott brings a unique understanding of the demands and needs of local business owners in structuring their own success through networking and community focus, and she currently serves as the Treasurer for the Shawnee Business Referral Network. She has been heavily involved in volunteer work through several non-profit organizations and values the time, effort, heart and experience that each volunteer brings.

Her duties as Executive Director include overseeing the operations of the Tecumseh Chamber, planning community events, implementing fundraising efforts, and maintaining positive relationships with chamber members, prospective members, volunteers, and the citizens of Tecumseh. “Tecumseh is a special community with many great business owners and citizens. I am truly honored to serve in this role, and I look forward to the bright future ahead,” Elliott said.
