Products & Services

"The Pioneer Library System serves Cleveland, McClain, and Pottawatomie counties. There are twelve hometown libraries, one community place, six information stations, three 24-hour machines, and two book boxes available for your convenience. We offer free books, audiobooks, movies, learning resources, and programming in both traditional formats and digital content to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in our service area. You can check out up to 100 physical items, and you can also enjoy a wealth of free eBooks, audio books or movies with the PLS Connect app. We offer wonderful free programs such as Family Story Time, the Sunday Stars tutoring program for children in 1-3rd grade, SAIL exercise classes, the Story Walk at Slick Humphrey Park, and we are thrilled to be a new affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which will mail a free book every month to enrolled children, from birth until their fifth birthday."

Tell the membership some about the company's background and other fun information.

"The Tecumseh Public Library first opened in 1938 as a Works Progress Administration project, and became part of the Pioneer Library System in 1976. We moved into our current location in 1986. Over the course of our history, the Tecumseh Library has grown from the original donation of 357 books to a collection of more than 20,000 items! We have more than 8,500 library users who call the Tecumseh Library their home branch."

Why is your company deserving of this award?:

"Libraries leave a legacy of inspiring innovation, engagement and learning. We are here to serve our community and are proud to have been part of the Tecumseh community for more than 80 years. We love to have adult customers come in and tell us about their great memories of coming to the library as children and now returning with families of their own."
